Music is proven to have a positive effect on the physical and emotional wellbeing of people living with dementia. Music can trigger a memory, provide emotional and behavioural support, exercise the body with the rhythm of the music, even non-verbal dementia sufferers have been known to sing their favourite hymn or song without any difficulty at all.
Our Cottage residents were treated to some Christmas entertainment performed by the Wodonga Brass Band over the weekend, it was thoroughly enjoyed by all. Click on the following link to watch another uplifting story about how music can improve the lives of those living with dementia, it’s called ‘Alive Inside’.
