Support at Home (SaH)

The SaH program has now replaced the Home Care Package Program (HCP) from 1st November 2025. Please see below for further information regarding our fees for Support at Home and updates.

Current Home Care Package clients in the community

When SaH comes in on the 1st of November, if you currently have a HCP and were assessed for a HCP prior to the 12th September 2024, you will be ‘grandparented’. This means that a ‘no worse off’ principle applies. Meaning:

    • What you were paying via an Income Tested Fee or Client Contribution will be the most that you ever pay under SaH
    • Your Package Management Fees will be removed, once SaH begins (currently up to 15% of the subsidy)
    • Your Care Management Fees will reduce to 10% of your subsidy, once SaH begins (currently up to 20% of the subsidy

The cost of services will increase to allow for the following:

    • Package Management
    • Care Management
    • Travel expenses
      • Under SaH, we are no longer allowed to charge for travel time or Kilometres
