When completed the Westmont Cottages in Baranduda Victoria will provide best practice services for people living with dementia in the Albury Wodonga Region. This includes 62 purpose built dementia units organised in 6-8 room modules including a shared kitchen, lounge and other living spaces as well as a new Community Support and Activities building to provide activities and support for people living with dementia at home and of course networking, respite and support for their carers. The Community Building will house a new commercial kitchen and laundry as well as a suite of activity and meeting rooms and important reception, storage and administration spaces for managing the cottages.
- Stage 1 of the Cottages was completed in 2020 at a cost of over $8m and this consisted of 32 dementia specific beds.
- Stage 2 is the current project and the expected cost to build this stage is approaching $12 m.
- Westmont must raise this money within its own resources and fundraising is a critical part of the funding plan.
- A target of $1.5m has been set to fundraise against the new Community Activity and Support building.
Your support can make this project happen quicker and with less burden on Westmont’s resources.
