Deputy Director of Care and Clinical Services Westmont Homestead Baranduda

Westmont Aged Care Services Ltd is seeking an experienced and skilled Registered Nurse to join our team as the Deputy Director of Care and Clinical Services. This role will report directly to the Director of Care and Clinical Services (DOCC) and will supervise a team of 3 Care Coordinators, 100+ RN’s, EEN’s and PCA’s. This role is an 0.8 of Full Time for an initial 8-month contract, with the possibility for ongoing.

Westmont is a not-for-profit organisation. We operate a 134-bed residential aged care facility, including a 32-bed Cottages for people living with dementia and 15-bed respite centre. We also operate a retirement village and Community Care in the Wodonga area.

Your role will be to provide support to the DOCC on all operational aspects of Care. Strong communication skills are required to form relationships with Doctors, pharmacies, and Allied Health services. A strong working relationship is required with the DOCC, Director of Finance, and IT for all ACFI and resident finances.

You will be responsible for the provision of holistic care to our residents, ensuring all individual resident needs are considered and documentation is kept up to date to ensure a continuum of care. Staff reporting, family consultation, physician first point of call and admission and discharge processes will all form part of your role as second in charge.

Demonstrated Abilities:

  • Minimum 8 years experience as a Registered Nurse (with administration management)
  • Proven clinical skills and the ability to think laterally about service delivery
  • Experience with ACFIs and a strong competency in finance and budgeting
  • Excellent interpersonal communication skills
  • Proven experience in leadership qualities – experience in leading teams and supervising staff
