Westmont Aged Care Services Ltd is seeking a qualified Diversional Therapist to oversee two different activities programs – one for our 102-bed high care Homestead facility, plus 32-bed Cottages for people living with dementia and our Community Social Connections program. As the Diversional Therapist you will be required to plan, design, coordinate and implement a recreation and leisure-based activity program for the residential facilities and oversee the activity programs for the Community Social Connections groups.

They need to include a focus on diversity, wellness, and reablement principles along with sensitivity to diverse cultural and religious needs.
The Homestead facility offers activities seven days a week both one on one and in group sessions. We also host a variety of functions and luncheons. Our Cottages provide the opportunity for residents to be included in activities of daily living such as cooking, general household activities, laundry, and gardening.
Our Community program offers an opportunity for clients to engage with their local community. The aim is to encourage those living independently to be involved in stimulating and meaningful social activities. We offer a Social Connections group five days per week and a dementia-specific group three days a week and both include lunch. We also offer specific interest activities and movie nights.
This role demands superior communication skills both written and verbal. The ability to interact with staff, residents, clients, family members, and the wider community is paramount. You will be responsible for reporting any issues, program changes/needs, staffing requirements to the respective Director within an appropriate time frame.
