Vacancy – Scheduler

Scheduler to join our Care department.

Westmont is seeking an experienced Scheduler to join our Care department. The Care department comprises of Personal Care Attendants (PCA’s), Enrolled Nurses (EN’s), and Registered Nurses (RN’s) that provide 24-hour care to our 134 residents. The Scheduler will be responsible for rostering over all shifts. You will also assist with Director of Care and Clinical Services and Care Coordinators with administrative duties. Experience with admissions and discharges is highly advantageous. This position is permanent part-time.

The role of the scheduler is to roster 110 Care staff over two locations (Homestead and our Cottages for those living with Dementia). It is a job that requires strong attention to detail, multitasking, and patience. The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication skills and be adept at dealing with last-minute changes, covering scheduled leave in advance, and assisting HR with preempting staffing requirements.

Experience in admissions and discharges either in an Aged Care facility or hospital setting is beneficial. This aspect of the role will rely on you to be the first point of call for all admissions and respite stays. Tracking documentation, providing tours, answering questions, and keeping an updated calendar of admissions/discharges is essential.
