This month we tasted fresh fruit and vegetables grown locally. Making a salad from hydroponic lettuce grown in Yackandandah, Margaret shelling walnuts, mushrooms from Kergunyah, pumpkin and honey from Beechworth. After the salad we ate delicious peaches from Cobram, berries from Myrtleford, apples from Stanley that were unbelievably crisp and sweet, including their cloudy juice.
The movies ‘Strange bedfellows’ and ‘Cliffy’ filmed in Yackandandah, Baranduda and Albury were watched. Also, documentaries about Wodonga railway and Bonegilla migrant camp.
Music from local entertainers including Bill Larsen, the Entertainers group, Val Perryman, Gweneth McLennan and DJ Bernie were enjoyed.
