Welcome to New Zealand month at Westmont
Residents will be watching different versions of the Haka. They will learn all about the many uses of the Haka such as weddings, funerals, and special occasions.
The beautiful film Whale Rider by New Zealand director Niki Caro will play.
We will be making beautiful arts and crafts of the silver fern.
We will also be painting some Maori tattoos onto faces and arms for those who are brave!
On the menu will, of course, be some lamb, New Zealand wine and cheese, and a favourite, steak and cheese pie topped with mash potato!
And perhaps the most important discussion of all – who truly owns the pavlova – NZ or Australia??
