Our Services

Personal Care

Our qualifies and experienced, caring staff will provide your personal care needs. These may include:

  • Dressing and undressing
  • Assistance with fitting aids
  • Showering, toileting and bathing
  • Oral care
  • Assistance with shaving and hair care
  • Medication supervision
  • Assisting with mobility and transfers
  • Preparation or cooking of meals
  • Support to maintain social interaction
  • Assistance with shopping
  • Escort for shopping, bill paying and appointments
  • Respite outings for clients
  • In home respite for carers

Our care workers are committed to providing discreet and respectful personal care services. We work with you in a way determined by you and we aim to support independence and to provide assistance where required.

Support at Home

A care worker or member of our cleaning staff are able to provide you with the following domestic assistance:

  • Cleaning bathroom, toilet, laundry, kitchen, bedroom and living areas
  • Vacuuming, sweeping, washing floors, dusting
  • Bed making/changing linen
  • Washing and ironing of clothes
  • Help preparing meals
  • Shopping, paying bills etc. – on your behalf
  • We work with you to tailor a task list that will meet your needs.

Home Nursing Assistance is provided to meet the needs of people living at home who have high or complex care needs.
Nursing services may include:

  • Administration of medication
  • General health assessments
  • Wound care
  • Monitoring of vital signs
  • Monitoring of Blood glucose levels
  • Bowel and continence monitoring
  • Medication management and education
  • Chronic disease management
  • Cognitive and memory assessments
  • Advanced Care Planning and End of Life care and discussion
  • Referrals to allied health services
  • GP Liaison about how to manage patient care needs at home

Our staff can either prepare or assist you to prepare your meals or you might like to receive Meals on Wheels.

You may already have the supplies, or you may like to combine the Shopping Service where we could take you shopping or do the shopping for you and then prepare and package your meals with you so that you can have what you want to eat when you would like to eat it.

Meals on Wheels is available seven days per week – 365 days per year.

Meals are prepared, cooked and packaged for delivery daily by the kitchen at Wodonga Hospital.

Co-ordinated by our staff in Beechworth Road, Wodonga the meals are delivered to your door by our wonderful team of volunteers.

Te focus of Meals on Wheels is to meet the nutritional needs of our community, and meals can be tailored to meet your health requirements. The daily menu comprises:

  • Soup
  • Main meal
  • Dessert

There is a 14 day rotating menu to choose from, and you can select how many times per week you would like to access them.

We are able to cater for all allergies and provide options to have the meals cut-up, minced or pureed.

Prompt and monitor clients to take their medication at the correct time.

In-home respite | Outings | Overnight

We provide flexible respite services to allow you to take some time out for your own personal needs and mental health, knowing your loved one is looked after and engaged in meaningful activities with our qualified, experienced care staff.

An in-home respite care service could include:

  • Reminiscing with photos and books
  • Completing a puzzle and games
  • Music and singing
  • Watching a favourite sport or entertainment
  • Providing a meal
  • Assisting with personal care

An out of home respite care service could include:

  • Going fishing or for a drive
  • Going out for coffee or a meal
  • Going to an art gallery or a museum
  • Going window shopping or browsing

We understand the trepidation that can come with trusting someone else to care for your loved one, be rest assured that their needs will be well met by our team of compassionate and caring staff.

We can take the heavy work out of your to do list. The Home and Garden Maintenance service is offered to help you maintain a safe and tidy home and may include:

  • Mowing and edging your lawn to ensure it is safe
  • A major yard clean to remove rubbish and clean up overgrown areas
  • Cleaning your house windows inside and out
  • Doing some weeding or heavy lifting that you are no longer able to do
  • Minor carpentry repairs to doors, windows, furniture
  • Replacement of light globes, fuses
  • Washing/cleaning windows
  • Repairing gates, fences, letterboxes etc
  • Pruning
  • Lawing mowing
  • Removal of rubbish
  • Assistance with moving small to medium sized furniture within your home
  • Cobweb removal
  • Smoke alarm and battery maintenance
  • Gutter cleaning

Please note that some of these services depend on funding availability, and relevant funding guidelines.

A care staff member can assist you with this.

Our Social Connections group is a program designed to engage our community in fun and exciting ways.

We provide regular group activities from Monday. To Friday and other groups such as Younger Person’s group, a Men’s group and a Technology Connects Us group at specific days and times.

We are always looking to expand our programs to include as much of our. Community as possible. We provide this activity at the Willows building on McFarland Road Wodonga.

Regular activities include but are not limited to quizzes, gentle exercise and sports, provided crafts (or you can bring your own from home), guest speakers, movie nights, shopping trips and bus outings.

The Willow Club

This is our dementia- specific program, where our experienced and caring staff provide entertainment and activities specifically catering to those who are living with dementia.

We can provide individual support to help you access and feel safe in the community. It can be to take you shopping, to a doctor’s or other medical appointment.

Individual Support may include:

  • Pick you up from home and escort you to an appointment
  • Essential shopping
  • Attending a medical appointment with you and taking notes to help you remember or provide feedback to your family, carer or care manager

Relatives and friends may visit the Homestead at any reasonable hour. All visitors are requested to sign in and out. It is encouraged that you call prior to visiting to ensure visiting hours have not been changed.
