Activities and Support Centre
When completed, the Westmont Cottages in Baranduda Victoria will provide best practice services for people living with dementia in the Albury Wodonga region.
This includes 62 purpose-built dementia units, organised in 6-8 room modules, which include a shared kitchen, lounge and other living spaces, in addition to a purpose built Community Centre. The Community Centre will provide support and activities for people living with Dementia at home, as well as networking, respite, and support for their carers.
- Stage 1 of the Cottages was completed in 2020 at a cost of over $8m and this consisted of 32 beds.
- Stage 2 is the current project and the expected cost to build this stage is approaching $12m.
- Westmont must raise this money within its own resources and fundraising is a critical part of the funding plan.
- A fundraising target of $1.5m has been set for the Community Activity and Support building.

The Community Building will house a new commercial kitchen and laundry as well as a suite of activity and meeting rooms and important reception, storage and administration spaces for managing the cottages.
